TransAtlantic Acoustic Show

Contemporary and Traditional Folk, Acoustic Blues, Acoustic Alt Country and More

TransAtlantic Acoustic Show

The TransAtlantic Acoustic Show brings you Folk, Blues, Alt Country, Bluegrass, and even a classically structured guitar or piano tune once in a while. Whatever the genre, it is always acoustic.

Hosts Sam Salter (UK) and Jill Nojack (US) try to keep the silliness to a minimum, but they freely admit it is a goal at which they sometimes fail. They feel extraordinarily contrite about this but have no plans at this time to change their ways.

Psychic Saviors - "World War Three" which is available for free download from Psychic Saviors page at IndieHeart (at least until it closes down in Fall 2011 (which sort of tips off one of the announcements we make on the show.

Okay, that's it for this show. We'll be back again in 2011, so don't write us off just yet! Jill

Yike! That little break from the show lasted a lot longer than it should! Sam and I are now back with a new episode of the show that is stuffed to bursting with an extra dose of acoustic tunes for your listening pleasure. I'd natter on about how fab the artists in the show are, but why not just listen to the show and check out the artist pages at your leisure by clicking the artist name in the playlist?

In this episode's playlist:

Lee Rogers - "Ida" from "Drawing Clocks". (Available on iTunes with other options on Lee's page at IndieHeart.

Bella Ruse - "Dark Horse" from the CD "Bella Ruse". (Available on iTunes with other options (including a free download of "Silent Night" also available (just click the artist name to visit their page!)

Aaron Berg - "Waiting for a Woman" from the CD "Songs for Madame X". Grab it on iTunes or from Aaron's prefered MP3 provider from his artist page.

Dan Tindall - "Kill The Machine" from the rather redundant "Kill The Machine"! Lots of options including fabulous free downloads are available on Dan's artist page. Or just pick it up from iTunes.

Debbie Miller - Tippy Toe from the CD "Fake Love". Download the tune for free from Debbie's page at IndieHeart or (better yet) grab the CD from iTunes.

The Sea Kings - "Villages" from the self-referencing EP "The Sea Kings", now available on iTunes.

Tom McKean & The Emperors - "Gazing at the Dying Of the Light". The CD is not yet available (watch this space - it will be do-not-miss musical event when it becomes available!) but you can get yourself two of their other songs on iTunes and hear a few more from the upcoming CD on their artist page.

Carrie Graham - "I'd Give Anything" from the "Notes from the Nut Hatch" CD. Visit Carrie's website for purchase options.

That's it for this episode! We hope you enjoy it and expect to bring you another show in January. Really. We're not kidding on that one. It will happen. Probably.

TA Show for Monday, Feb. 2nd, 2010 (#65)

It has been about 10 months since we brought you a show, so many apologies for that. I would like to blame Sam for the delay, but the truth is that this show has been sitting on my hard drive since last October, waiting to be produced. We hope the next one appears in a much more timely fashion, but there are a lot of factors that may get in the the way.

Sam is in process of moving about six hours away from where he currently resides due to a new job, but his new wife is back at home until April. This means that he is spending a lot of time traveling. Me? I'm just lazy :-)

But...to get down to what you've been waiting for, I now present this show's playlist:

My Light Sweet Fire - Just Been Born -- from the "Invitation To My Light Sweet Fire" EP on iTunes

Zia Hassan - When Will I Learn -- Zia's "Grow Slow" EP is now available iTunes!

Lizzie Nunnery - Twistin' On the Breeze -- Grab Lizzie's music on iTunes

Star Anna and The Laughing dogs - Through The Winter -- Get "The Only Thing That Matters" CD on iTunes

Sonic Bridge - The Polar Bear Giraffe -- Get MP3s from the band's site at sonicbridgemusic.com or grab a CD from CDBaby

We've got a lot of great new music waiting in the wings, and we hope not to make you wait so long next time. So...as soon and Sam and I have a mutual moment free, we intend to fill your ears with some more fab tunes. Plus, I promise not to leave the show sitting on my hard drive for months. Seriously. (Like anyone trusts me to meet deadlines...yeah, right.)

Missed you guys. I can totally believe Sam needs someone to help him cross the street (especially in Manhattan). Not sure he has the attention span to get all the way across the street. ;-)

Loved the February podcast, and found myself noticing that Star Anna's song wasn't acoustic just as you guys noted it yourself. Still, agreed it was a great number and glad you included it.

Hope it's not another 10 months before #66.

I think Sam and I spent way too much time demonstrating what big geeks we are this week (like you didn't already know that) what with our digressions into the area of Star Trek and scifi dentistry, but we also managed to fit in the usual number of fabulous acoustic songs. Amazing how we always actually manage that despite our tendency to veer way off of the musical course :-)

This week's playlist:

Will Derryberry - Seven -- Get it on iTunes

Kesang Marstrand - Real Boy -- Get it on iTunes

Ross Crean - Upside Down -- This song is not available on CD yet, but you should buy all of Ross's previous CDs on iTunes. Because he's fab and I adore his music. So, go do that now. If you don't feel like it, you can always go to CDBaby instead :-)

Christopher Martin Hansen - 80 Days -- MP3s available on SongPlanet

Lori Diamond - Mystery -- Get it on iTunes

Tom Bolton - Little Star -- iTunes purchase link -- CDBaby purchase link.

That's it! Thanks once again for listening! And make sure to check out the new Eclectic Acoustic Internet Radio stream by clicking on the Radio link on the menu up there. Once you're on the page, I'm sure you can sort it all out to get the radio actually playing.
