The TransAtlantic Acoustic Show brings you Folk, Blues, Alt Country, Bluegrass, and even a classically structured guitar or piano tune once in a while. Whatever the genre, it is always acoustic. Hosts Sam Salter (UK) and jill no jack (US) try to keep the silliness to a minimum, but they freely admit it is a goal at which they sometimes fail. They feel extraordinarily contrite about this but have no plans at this time to change their ways. |
The Heart of the Night Show features Rock, Pop, Contemporary Folk, and music from other genres when it fits with the show. If it's great music, Jill is likely to drop it in! Host jill no jack claims she is always in a "midnight frame of mind". Not really being able to decipher what that means, we have decided she probably means that she is really, really tired. Despite that, she always does her best to play great Indie tunes. |

As far as I can recall, this was the first show Sam and I released from the IndieHeart.com site. It wasn't our first show altogether, mind you...previously we had a "beta" version of the show from the original site Sam and I both DJed for. This was just the first show where we finally got the production values nailed down fully. It's really more difficult than you might image to produce a show with co-hosts who have never met and live in entirely different countries. For those of you who around back then (and there were very few), we hope the repeat performance is a pleasant one! Let me tell you, the biggest drag about listening to all of the old episodes to pick the best ones to send out as encore episodes while Sam and I take a bit of a break is having to site through all of that nonsense again. I think I was particularly sleepy and incapable of pronouncing the English language with any degree of accuracy in this one. It's true, the Heart of the Night Show is also going to be taking a short break, with "Encore" episodes filling the gap until it returns in June. I sincerely hope that the terrific music in this episode tides you over until I return with new shows. I'm just so tickled about this episode's exclusive track from crashtv. I'll try not to gush and just say that I dig their music. I hope you do, too (and you can even gush, if you'd like). Heart, from crashtv's upcoming CD, Soundput, is not available on the site, but you can hear lots of music from crashtv's previous CD until the new CD is released. Of course, there's lots of other terrific music, but do you want to read or listen? The answer to that seems pretty much like a no-brainer to me. So, without further ado... Here in the frozen American midwest, I find myself grinding to a halt through the last of the winter months. Lack of motivation hits me hard every year around this time. Despite that, I've managed to put together a nice show for you, I think. I even managed *not* to fill it with listless, ruminating songs of doom and despair.
