Carly and Mark are an acoustic folk-pop group from Toronto. Starting out as a duo Carly Blasutti (vocals) and Mark Hart (guitar/vocals) realeased their first independent recording 'Carly and Mark' in 2005. They have since built a solid repertoire of original music and a dedicated following which continues to grow with each show. In 2007 Carly and Mark were nominated for 3 Toronto Independent Music Awards including, Best Live, Best Song ("Dreamin' Of") and Best Female Fronted. Now performing as a quartet with double bass and percussion, Carly and Mark are set to release a new full length album in July 2008.
Their music, variously described as funky, mellow, intense and fun, draws from the band's diverse interests which include folk, pop, blues, and jazz. With their sophisticated but readily accessible sound 'Carly and Mark' garner praise from young and old and from fans of all genres.
