Artist Bio:
With musical influences including Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and James Taylor, Lee Rogers' brand of blues-laced rock/pop has the distinctive charm of fellow countrymen Van Morrison and Paul Brady while remaining uniquely his own. His live set, either solo acoustic or with the musicians he works with regularly, combines heart stopping vocals, super slick acoustic guitar work and an incredible penchant for story telling.
Lee cut his teeth locally in Belfast where he picked up residencies most nights of the week. Within days of his son being born he signed to the Zenith Cafe label and this forged what has become an amazing relationship.
His debut album 'Drawing Clocks' was recorded in Italy with Marco Canepa at the production helm. 2006 saw the much anticipated but limited official release of what has already been called an "instant classic". Drawing Clocks is now gathering momentum in both North America and Europe.
Lee gigs all over and has played some of the hottest music venues around including the XM Worldspace "Best of British" showcase with Ted Kelly at Abbey Road studios in London which went out to millions of UPoP listeners worldwide. Lee was also offered a slot at the North by Northeast (NXNE) music conference in Toronto, Canada playing as one of only four acts on the official British stage. He not only brought the house down with his music but showcased a natural stage presence for spinning yarns between songs, enrapturing the audience with both true and imagined anecdotes of the tracks to come, gently teasing them into his world.
Phil Villeneuve from âChart Attackâ Canada, who was present that night, said of Leeâs performance, âit was like watching Tom Waits, John Lee Hooker and The Commitments in the form of a charming IrishmanââŠ.and even though it was only Lee on guitar and Trevor Dyer on upright bass, Chart Attack scored him 99/100.
With the worldwide help of discerning radio DJs, âDrawing Clocksâ and Lee Rogers look set to be a huge success. But it does not stop there. Lee has been involved with movie soundtrack work..... Myriad pictures used a version of "How will I sleep?" in the supernatural thriller The River King. Then Lee was asked to co-write and perform a song with legendary Italian soundtrack composers/producers Pivio and Aldo Di Scalzi for the title track of the movie âThe Hand Of Godâ (the life of Diego Maradona) which will be released worldwide in 2007/2008.
This year saw Lee perform 3 shows during Midem for the labels and publishers from all over the world who are on the verge of or who have licensed his music. The feedback from his shows was fantastic and at times left the normally hard music business audience completely breathless.
All in all itâs been a busy few years for the Belfast man and it seems he is set on making his mark among both the greats of the singer-songwriter world and his own peers as well as achieving all his own aspirations.

Ida
Its 4 o clock Ida, for the first time today
I've been skulking in the shadows
Trying hard to find my way
Its just a thought Ida, how you think you'll cope
I dreamed I saw you last night
Through the dust and the cigarette smoke
And I was just standing there drunk
Covered in rain
The humming of the city like as if
She knew my name
Isn't it a pity I cant even light my flame
I'm leaving town before Judgment day
Ida I'm leaving town before Judgment day
It's pinching me Ida, for the first time in my life
And this damn weather don't help
How can i help myself
There's a train coming Ida, I'd like to be on
Maybe you could meet me out in Boston
Or maybe you wont, maybe you wont go
And I was just standing there drunk
Covered in rain
The humming of the city like as if
She knew my name
Isn't it a pity I cant even light my flame
I'm leaving town before Judgment day
Ida I'm leaving town before Judgment day
I twisted of my lid, looked along the avenue
It was like everyone was thinking the same thing
Its as hard as this old face, or as cold as your heart of stone
With not a pot to **** in nor a song to sing, sing
I'm leaving town before Judgment day
Ida I'm leaving town before Judgment day
Its 4 o clock Ida, for the first time today......... |

Brian Writes Poetry
Standing by the river side, he gazed across the water
Pen and paper poised to write some words some how
The middle from a brood of three Brian, he writes poetry
The others didn't go that road at all
Played the razor looking down
With his heart on his sleeve
Eloquently speaks his words gonna get you to believe
But i say...............
Now every day was just the same but with a different feel and a different name
It's crazy just to watch how a story goes
The Timeless Search for Everything was a poem I heard, I was just a kid
I say it now, it doesn't really flow, no, no
Played the razor looking down
With his heart on his sleeve
Eloquently speaks his words gonna get you to believe
But i say...............
Laughing, running, skipping and jumping a fool for words a story coming
He lays his lines into the land
But I heard just the other day that Brian he had gone away
Leaving just some whiskey and some songs he had
Played the razor looking down
With his heart on his sleeve
Eloquently speaks his words gonna get you to believe
But i say............... |

Get It Right
So no one hears it but yourself, no one sees it now but you
And all the things you want to be, all the things you wished you where
And when the silence never says much
And you feel as if your roll in life has gone
You been thrashing out an answer
Been breaking up you're truth for so long
And thats wrong
Get it right its living time
Your walking through this world like it's a crime
Get it right its living time
Your walking through this world like it's a crime
For the sake of conversation, for the sake of all those crazy things you say
You can take the situation, you take that junk and you throw it all away, away
So lets not play these little games
Lets not give the dark no truth
Be all the things you want to be, all the things you wished you where
And when the silence never says much
And you feel as if your roll in life has gone
You been thrashing out an answer
Been breaking up you're truth for so long
And thats wrong
Get it right its living time
Your walking through this world like it's a crime
Get it right its living time
Your walking through this world like it's a crime
Get it right its living time
Your walking through this world like it's a crime
Get it right its living time
Your walking through this world like it's a crime
Hey hey, hey hey |

Nevermind
Its getting late now my lady, lets stretch the time for just a little while
Wanna keep the fire going, the nights scent as the sun goes down
Put you're light on baby
You're altogether gorgeous right now, the rose skies as they light up your face
And you're playing with your hair now baby, this drifting heat we could be anyplace
Put you're light on baby
And what's that playing on my radio
All these voices and songs from so long ago
The perfect night time kicking back groove
Reminds me of the days when.....
Nevermind.....
Well the ghosts are drifting past our faces, it's a feel good conversation with a razors edge
The world it never stopped in any of the ages, and it never will no matter what's been said
Put you're light on baby
I've been feeling so good lately, feeling like I could be myself again
And the fires still burning,I just never know where or when
Put your light on baby
And what's that playing on my radio
All these voices and songs from so long ago
The perfect night time kicking back groove
Reminds me of the days when.....
Nevermind.....
No one else matters no one even cares, we got ours babe and they got theirs
Everyones a preacher, always falling down turn up the radio drown out the background
Into the submission out toward the world, never had a dream but have you ever heard
How everyones a stranger, a friend you never seen, trapped in a place your sure you never been
Turn it up, turn it on up turn up the radio......... |

Love, Love, Love
Wont you stay with me, all through the night
I know you got your work, but I can take you there its alright
I been here alone, day after day its a long time since anyone
Ever made me feel this way
And I know it wont be dark here anymore
You let in the light when you open my door
And I know you wont ever go away
I'm asking you tonight just
Stay,stay............
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
You're like this open book, but just for me
For you I'm just the same, for you my feelings are for free
How we going now? Babe are we ok?
I know I ask the same old thing about a million times a day
And I know it wont be dark here anymore
You let in the light when you open my door
And I know you wont ever go away
I'm asking you tonight just
Stay,stay............
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
Wasn't ever gonna get to be, wasn't ever gonna see
Im never gonna know just what's out there in front of me
Why'd you come here anyway, why'd you promise you where gonna stay
You tell me that you love me, today of all days
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love
I swear on the moon and the stars in heaven above
Nothing else matters now but Love, Love, Love |

Easier
By the station side, trying to buy some time
Stubbed out his cigarette, gazes on down the line
Was kinda late in Spring but it felt like Winter was racing in
As he thought about her, and all the things that could have been
You taught me to fly, you taught me how to whisper
You taught me to cry, you showed me how to listen
I love you sometimes, and I need you sometimes
Somethings changed and I dont know where
It's just easier when you're not there
The last train pulls in, but he turns around again
Starts to walk away, something was stopping him
Why'd she go and write that note, was doing just fine all alone
Packed himself a bag, didn't even tell no one
You taught me to fly, you taught me how to whisper
You taught me to cry, you showed me how to listen
I love you sometimes, and I need you sometimes
Somethings changed and I dont know where
It's just easier when you're not there
You say that you love me, then prove to me
You say that your sorry, so am I
I need to know when your coming home |
