The Peter Roy Project was started in December 2004 when Peter Roy recorded a solo song for the TURN LEFT film soundtrack. At that time Peter had been singing for BLACK13 who also had 9 songs on the TURN LEFT film soundtrack. Peter felt the need to be creative musically without being stuck playing one genre of music and thus the Peter Roy Project was born. By mixing acoustic guitar, hip hop / jazz beats, piano, and other ambient textures Peter would lay down the foundation which he would lay his trademark vocals over. After attending the Cannes film festival in 2005 to support and promote the TURN LEFT film; Peter decided to leave BLACK13 and pursue a permanent solo career. Over the next year Peter would write and develop new songs and shoot a professional video for one of the Peter Roy Project songs titled ..LOST... Seeing the internet as the perfect way to get music to the masses worldwide; Peter sent hundreds of emails to Podcast shows around the world. The result was instantly gratifying when Peter Roy Project songs started being played on Podcasts around the world. This greatly boosted traffic on the Peter Roy Project website. In the late summer of 2006 Peter signed a recording contract with ADOWA records. By signing to ADOWA records Peter would have to figure out how to play his music live. Having no lust for putting together a band; Peter decided to recruit a laptop musician to play all the digital tracks while adding different effects live. Peter choice DJ Brian Lindsay for the position as laptop DJ for all live shows. Brian is a well known house DJ in the Bavaria, Germany and is a resident DJ at the Airport in Wuerzburg. His extensive experience as vinyl DJ will help bring a different feel to the Peter Roy Projects songs live. This would also create a visual onstage image of diverse musical styles being merged as one. The world of electronic music and acoustic music is where the Peter Roy Project lives and breathes.
